Default LT1 clutch fork help!

So we just got done installing a new clutch in a 93 LT1 Z28, when the car is at idle and we push the clutch in, we can hear the fork grind on the pressure plate, then we pull the tranny back and we can see where it grinds at.

The flywheel was turned down a little, this is the first time the flywheel as been turned, what could have gone wrong here?

Any input would be helpful

The fork may not be seated in its detent correctly. Pull the slave cyl and recheck it.

We were messing with that last night but were not sure about it. I'll be trying this for sure.

Pull your slave and spacer, look in there with a flash light, look for flat spots on your throwout bearing...bump you starter until they align with the fork so you can seat your fork fully....its not pushed in all the way so your alignment is off when you push the clutch in. you'll prolly notice you can't change gears while its running or even move it? I had the same problem, took me about 2 nights, and one full tranny pull to figure out it was just that.

We found the problem, it turns out the "T" that the fork rests on was 1.056 inches, and the notches that the fork pushes on were worn down quite a bit, about .04, so we took some off the end of the "T" until it was 1.035 and it worked great.

I had a fork failure due to the bolt holding the "T" pivot block backing out and broke off. Now I loctite the bolt in place.
