Default how quick are these cars stock?

iv been looking at ls1's but i think my credit may limit me to an lt1 for now, which isnt a bad thing at all.
my question is generally how quik are these cars stock? the one im looking at is a 97 t/a, auto. is it possible to find 13's with a stall shift kit and a gear?

You can get the car into 13's in stock form depending on how strong it is and how you drive it. With gears and a shift kit depending on gear size you will be running mid 13's

iv raced a few stock lt1's with my stang which was basically stock, and it seemed their were crawlin lt1's and then their was the rare stock one that would hang, then their was a 6spd with a cat back and k&n only that got me by a fender. is their a certain year that makes more power than others?

well the 96-97 cars had dual cats which allowed them to have 285hp instead of 275hp. the firehawks had 315 and the ws6 cars had 305. the SS cars had 305 as well unless they were level II cars then they had 315. and what does all this mean? get a CAI and a catback and it no longer matters. those really are the only power differences between all the different cars.

I got my 94 run to a 14.2 when it was stock. I am sure a 96-97 LT1 could hit 13's pretty easily, especially the SS and WS6 ones (mostly because of the exhaust though). A stall and gear will make it get mid 13's..as long as you have traction.

LT's will hold there own, but the LS1's have top end.

I think you would be happy with a LT
