Default OBD1 conversion

Ok, I did some searching on the site for info on doing an OBD1 conversion. I got tired of reading and never did find anything helpful so maybe yall can help. Tell me if I'm wrong, all I need is an OBD1 pcm from a 94-95 LT1, knock sensor for the same and that's it?? Then get tunercat, the cable and start tuning?? And do I still need the LT4 knock module??

You do not need the knock sensors instead you can make the OBd1 pcm work with the 96 knock sensors less than $1 worth of resistors from Radio shack is enough to do 2 pcms.

You don't need to do anything to the knock sensors. I ran my '96 TA that way a long time. Still do, but no knock sensor now (solid roller). I just shut off the code 43. Still had normal knock retard function with the '96 sensor. If you don't shut off the code 43, it will retard about 15 degrees when you step on the gas. I ran mine three years that way, with no resistors, or any other problems at all.

Good luck, Ed
