Default Got some shakedown passes on the 383

Had 560 miles on the new motor/built tranny. It's a 383 with the le2 package, built 4l60e with a 3600 yank.

First pass, I launched HARD, spun bad, looked like this...

1.91 60ft
12.11 at 115.47

Second pass, I rolled into it since it was cold out and it didn't hook the first pass....

1.64 60ft
11.78 at 115.6

I was VERY happy with how the car ran. I was running the 255/50/16 drag radials, base tune, lifting at the top of 1st so I didn't hit stall wall, and shifting at less 5900 from 1-2 and 2-3. Then I only hit 5500 in 3rd and my converter locked and bogged me to 3900 before the traps. I should be shifting at 6500+ and the converter shouldn't lock until at least 6400, but I have the shift points set down for break in. I know it has a lot more in it. I should be dyno'ing this week, and then seeing what it will do on the bottle next week if the track is open. I'm hoping for 11.5x on motor on drag radials, and maybe if I'm lucky I can squeeze out a 10.99 on spray on drag radials.

very cool. glad to hear it. how is the streetablility with that package? ive been very curious to know how one of his combos worked on an 383. i know they do very well with the 350s power wise, but they are pushing it streetability wise.

definelty let us know how your dyno runs go.

I consider it very streetable, and daily drive the car. Right now I do have to let it warm up some because I don't have any cold start tuning on it. It doesn't really surge any with the stall/gears I have, even with just the base tune. I know it will run much better when the tune is perfect.
