yeah the lt 5 was not even built by chevrolet i it was built be mercury marine for chevrolet. And you wouldnt wanna deal with the cost of repairing those things. There are only a few chevy dealerships in the country that are certified to work on that motor.
there are plenty of dealerships that can repair an LT5, and they are certified to do it too. they wont fit in an Fbody for sure. finding one in a vette is possible, but they arent cheap. repairs depending on what it is can be very costly. replacement parts are not very easy to get, they are simply not made anymore.

I have 2 LT5's in my dads garage back in Pa. I got them dirt cheap form wrecked ZR1's. Needless to say, they are so expensive to rebuild, that's why they're sitting there. one is together and one is disassembled just cause I wanted to see the inside of it. MAN, what a nightmare. I'm holding on to them so hopefully in 30 years, they will be worth what an original 426 hemi is today.
