Times with the 224-230
1. First and foremost, the little button located between the shift key and tab key on the left of the keyboard,,,,,, use it, your post gave me a headache.
2. I don't hate the 224/230 cam at all. I think it's a great daily driver and decent performance cam.
3. The highest number I've ever seen from that cam is 375rwhp. I've seen dozens of numbers from that cam and that is the highest. The average seems to be around 350-360ish.
4. There are just too many variables with a dyno/operator. For instance, I've seen up to 25rwhp difference between corrected and uncorrected dyno data. That is a HUGE difference IMO.
5. Another reason the 224/230 cam is getting a bad rap is because it has 6deg more duration than a hot cam (intake side), and yet produces almost exactly the same numbers. One would think that a cam with that much more duration would produce better performance.

Are you looking for 400rwhp or just 400 crank hp? I was assuming you wanted 400rwhp when I commented previously. If all you want is 400 crank hp, the 224/230 should get you real close. Figure 13-15% drivetrain loss for T56, closer to 18% for automatic.

Just gotta get the heads ready.
I think i am going with the 306. Hey man any problems ahead of time i should know about with this cam. I have heard of some guys having a little break problem with it because of vacume. How about gas mileage for this cam? (not really concerned , but curious) Lastly somebody answer my question about fuel concern with the 306.
