You will be pleased with them. Be easy on the launch. You should get 4-6 tenths is about right. From 2.73s, expect a full second or slightly higher.

I ordered the kit directly from slp at the time. I bought a new Torsen diff (heavy duty unit) 4:10 gears, install kit also came with the speedometer calibrator. I have had the gears for about 3 years now with no problems. I would go with the quieter gears for a 10 bolt IMO. I dont know about you but think building up the 10 bolt is just a waste of money and time. If your goals are to have good fast launches with sticky tires, the 10 bolt doesnt like the abuse. It is an engineer flaw for them to have put that rear in any of the LT1's and LS1's to begin with. I think it is really who you have install the gears that is the most important if your gonna decide to do it. I spent big bucks on my gear install from pyle bros.( could have saved all of the parts + install for a 12 bolt or 9 inch) They are known for racing rears ends around Houston Motor Speedway. IMO i would save and go for a cam swap or another rear end. I will say that i had planned on having big horse , but didnt know how weak the 10bolt was before i modded it. Just giving you heads up.

i have a 92 Z28 with a Tremec T-56 from Mcleod. rear end is out of a 02 Z28 with 3:23's.
would going to 3:73's be a good thing? the guys on the Thirdgen.org board say my car is not a "highwinder"(the hell does that mean?) and to go with 3:42's. some are saying my 1st gear will be useless if i go 3:73's
to date i have ran a best of 13.94 @ 98.89 at fontana(completely rich mixture) my 60ft was 2.194
this was my very very 1st run ever on a drag course.
so my question is what will benefit my 6 speed for usage as a daily and once a month drag?

My opinion's, 4.10 needs a tire of some sort and prone to tire spin on the street, 3.73 nice gear works with a DR well hooks good on the street, 3.42 Are great for street on a DR. If your on a slick or ET street go 4.10.
I already have the richmond 4.10 gears ( they came w/ the car when i bought it) so im just stick w/ them. Ill be using 245/50 DRs at the track. Those good or do i need something taller and stickier?

Exactly what I was thinking.Honestly, if you guys ever do any drag racing at all with any kind of a sticky tire, do yourselves a favor and apply that $$ toward a real rearend. The only way I would install another set of gears in a 10 bolt is if it were going behind an automatic. They seem to have much better luck holding up than the 6sp cars.
