Removing Electronic Smog Pump The Smog Pump is making that whining sound right when I start my car up, which you all probably know what i'm talking about. Is there a way i can just remove this altogether? If so, does anythign else need to be done in place of it? It's pretty annoying, and i'll buy a new one if needed. I'm not even quite sure what purpose it serves, but if it has anythign to do with emissions..my state doesn't require testing

Well, from your s/n, I can guess your car is a 95. 94 and 95 just yank it all out and get some pipe plugs for the tubes coming off the exh manifolds/headers. The PITA is gonna be the crossover tube from the left exh to the right exh. When I had removed a few, I had to cut the tube into 2 or 3 pieces. If it's a 96 or OBD2 pcm, it will trip a code and the SES light will come on but it won't cause any drivability issues.

If you don't want it to wine and are too lazy to take it out, just unplug it Then get it programmed out of your PCM so it won't throw a code. If you decide to take it out, like SAPPER said, take out the AIR pipe that goes under the engine (easiest by cutting it) and the pump which is to the right of the waterpump.
