cc-306 is 112 lsa.. Its better if you chose a 114 lsa cam.. I wouldn't buy off the shelf cam,you can chose custom cc.. Here some type of nitrous cc camshaft..

I ran that exact setup and it worked great. The 112 lsa sounded mean. I had full boltons stall, cc306 and a 150 dry shot and I ran 11.26 at 121, in a heavy vert. As far as being safe for the motor I don't see it being a huge deal. Upgrade valve springs for the cam and you should be good. Of course nitrous is hard on a motor, but hey we have to go fast right! Nitrous is like a hot chick with STDs, you want to hit it but your scared of the consequinces!! I think it is a pretty good combo. Let me know how it goes, Good Luck

The 114 would not have anything too do with safety what it would do would be trade a little NA power too get a little more power on the bottle.

I ran the 236/242 Xtreme energy cam with a 112lsa with a 150 shot TNT kit and it ran awesome..... 10.40@131 with a little stock crank 6" rod 355.....

FWIW, also why go with the CC306???? It's ANCIENT technology as far as cam design is concerned... even comp cams will tell you that.... the cc306 was designed way back in the day when LT1's were first coming out in vettes and f-bodies in 93.....

The 236/242 is a tad bigger on intake duration (236 vs 230) and two degrees smaller on exhaust (242 vs 244) but has more lift on the intake (.556 vs .544) and the same exhaust lift (576)... These specs are with 1.6 rockers. Also the xtreme energy 236/242 has more agressive ramp speeds on the lobes for better midrange power.... Don't get me wrong the CC306 is a nasty cam and it makes good power to a nice RPM range but it's like talking about buying a Zenith 248 computer and a 300 baud modem when Pentium V's and 3.1Ghz computers are available.... The CC306 was available in 93..... Alot of stuff has changed since 1993.... Just something to think about....
