Default How Do You Bypass The Throttle Body??

I see that some people on here have a throttle body bypass, first how do you do this, second what are the advantages of this over a larger throttle body, and third is there any danger in doing this? Sorry about all the questions.

Installing a TB bypass allows for a cooler intake charge since the TB does not have coolant running thru it. Comparing it to a larger TB is comparing apples to oranges. Here is the procedure to bypass the throttle body.

Now I understand it, it doesn't allow the coolant to flow through the throttle body, I have heard of that before on other cars, just the way some people had it in their sigs I though that the airflow somehow bypassed the throttle body, thats why I was confused about what it was and how to do it.

Roger that.
you might have been also thinking of an airfoil too. IMO, they're junk. I bought one when they first came out in 95. turned right around and bought a 52mm TB, much better mod. hahaha, sold the airfoil for $10

i always wondered if an airfoil would help on a nitrous car.?? calm down the intake turbulance? somehow i doubt it. but yes, definately do the coolant bypass for the tb.

But be carefull if you're going to drive your car when its ***** cold outside, without that coolant running through it it can stick. Happened to my buddy with his ls1

hmm I've never had anyone tell me about having problems doing this on an Lt1. I know a few cannuck friends who've done the TB bypass and have had no problems.
