Two genuine things that can stand correcting in the "E" trannies is the PWM Transgo eliminates that and I don't think it was in 94 anyway, second is Transgo makes a vacuum modulator to control line pressure and thereby shift firmness. This allows quicker response to your throttle input but at the expense of loosing pcm shift firmness, you still retain the finite control over shift points and lockup though which are wonderful things for the strip and drivability.
This is about putting a TH400 in an Impala might be some useful info there, the box he used was expensive but maybe it will lead you in the right direction at least.
