Help please
Also, I was letting it run in gear on the jack stands and I looked at the guages and the temp guage was pegged. I shut it down and the motor was pretty cool to the touch and had not been running long enough to build up this kind of heat. I checked the radiator and resivor and they were about 1/2 gallon low. I pulled the thermostat housing and there is NO WATER in the top hose from the radiator. Is my problem air in the system and a cavitating water pump? I also have a small amount of water coming out of the exhaust, and have for a while. I think this is where I'm losing the water, but I don't know if it's a blown head gasket, cracked/warped head or a cracked block.
If I could just get these things figured out, I would be a much happier person.
My symptoms when I blew a head gasket 2 months ago: loss of coolant, rough idle and decreased performance, high temp and overheating, and smoke coming out the exhaust.
