Do Cams Make Car Harder To Start?
I would like to go with a rather big cam, bigger than the 306, but I worry that my car won't be able to start in the winter, it will be a daily driver, do cams really make the car harder to start? and if they do by how much, will it be nearly impossible or just take a little extra time?

My car fires right up. Sometimes when its cold it takes it a second to "find" the idle speed but after that, I let it sit for about 5 minutes to get some heat in the oil and valetrain then I feel safe driving it. I dont let it see any higher(3k+) rpm until it reaches the full opperating temperature. As Metalbeast said, its all in the tune.
Also, what cam are you looking to get that is bigger than the cc306? Just curious.

With the advent of fuel injection, not really. If the car is tunned right, shouldnt be hard to drive at all. On the other hand I have a buddy with a 385 stroker in his 79 Vette, that car has a very large cam and when it is cold, it is an absolute bitch to get that thing to idle, big demon carb helps nothing.

thats good to know thanks guys, and i currently don't have the car but before i buy one i like to research alot. as for the cam i am not really sure, i thought that the 306 was a good size cam but i dont really know what i want. what kind of power will the 306 add to a stock motor?
