Default Valve Question

i have a 93 TA, with a stock LT1. now the problem i am having is, the valves make alot of noise on this car, and im not sure why, and at first it takes about 5 minutes for oil to even reach the rockers, so i replaced the lifters and pushrods and cleaned the rockers and set them back up. and then i thought that maybe they werent adjusted right...... so i did it while it was running and i backed off the first one. and it started to clatter. and then tightened another 1/4 turn to set lash. but the valves still make alot of noise and im not sure why. when i first start up and i told you about the oil problem for 5 minutes. if i rev it before the oil gets there they clatter really loud on the down rev. but when the oil gets there they still make noise. has anyone ever had this problem before.
any info will really help
thanks guys

How many miles onthe motor and was it abused before. Sounds like an oil starvation problem to the cam, lifter, upper valve train. Oh and what's the oil pressure? True pressure, not what the idiot gauge says, they're not very accurate. Most are up when past 15 psi and don't move.

did you tighten the rocker back down to where there is no clatter before doing the 1/4th turn? If so, then your pushrods prolly have slack between them, the lifters, and the rocker arms.

there is 160k on the motor, not sure if it was abused. the gauge is reading ok, i guess, it moves around between idle and driving. anywhere between 40-80 psi. i tightened to get the clatter out and then the 1/4 turn. for experiment i kept turning until motor almost stalled but no change in noise, im thinking its the oil pump. i have a melling HV. that im going to put in just have to find the time
