Default cam question

I'm looking to keep my stock heads and want to buy a cam. I was set on the cc503 224, 230 112 lobe, but after reading a lot of people wishing they would have gone big in the first place has changed my mind...i think. I dont really like how the cc306 is such a high rpm cam and hurts the low end tq. is there a cam that is in between the 503 and the 306? im looking for around 350-360 at the wheels with all the bolt ons.

any help would be appreciated

dave

What about the CC305 or the 847 cam? Both should get you at those numbers and low 12s no problems...

The 847 will get you the best numbers and driveability on a stock head LT1 that you will get from an off the shelf cam. A friend of mine has had both the 306 and the 847, and driveability was much better on the 847. As far as the 503/305, many people have been much happier with the 305 and seem to have better results.

I think the 306 is good through out the entire rpm range depending on you are stalled correctly or if you have an M6. I made peak tq at 3600rpm and peak hp at 6500. I have been turning it up that high for a couple years now and had no problems.
