Bolt broke off in manifold!!

Default Bolt broke off in manifold!!

My 95 LT1 started making a ticking noise and I found out that the thing that bolts on to the driver side of my manifold and takes the exhaust to the cat was not bolted to the manifold on one side and it turns out the bolt broke off inside the manifold. I don't know if i should try drilling it out or putting another bigger bolt on top, or just take the freakin heads off. If anyone has had this problem before please give me some advice.

pictures would help because the "thing on the other thing" description doesnt.

DAMNIT!... i did the same fcking thing a couple of days ago... it sucks.. i dont suggest drilling it.. because that bolt will come lose if it isnt on right.. and therefore.. will rattle like a motherfcker when u hit the gas... if i were you... just get a new header if stock.. if not.. then i dont know man...good luck..

I know how you feel. About 2 years ago the same thing happened to me while putting headers on. I ended up pulling the heads off, I broke an easyout off while the heads were in the car. To make a long story short I ended up swapping cams, new valve springs,and had the heads milled just enough to make sure they were straight. I wish I had the money to have them ported, but it turned out to be one of the best things that happened to my car. My car got almost a second quicker in the 1/4.

I have the same problem. Two are broken on my driver's side (the rear most two) thank gosh headers don't need the furthest back bolt, so the speed shop only has to drill out one and whatever other ones the might break when the headers go on..
