Default timing cover gasket

So im doing a cam swap. The gasket on the oil pan that connects to the timing cover is broke so do i put this piece back up there or do i just slap some rtv on it? thats one hell of a gap to fill with rtv.
what have u guys done to prevent oil leaks on the front other than replacing that oil pan gasket thats a bitch to get to.

I replaced my oil pan gasket when I did my cam swap. I didnt rip it or anything, it was just getting worn. If you ripped yours, I suggest you replace it. I dont see how you'd get a good seal otherwise.

If its a big gap, replace the seal. If you dont and rig it with RTV it will more than likely leak down the road and you will have to do it anyway.
