Why do i need forged?

Why do i need forged? Ok, so my car is no longer running...crankshaft endplay is like .040 eeeek. I am doing a 383 rebuild this late spring/summer. Anyways i am on a very tight budget and i am wondering why do i need forged crank, pistons, rods etc? The stroker kits that are all forged seem to be like 1000 dolars more.
My goal for the car is a pretty quick daily driver though. I am not going to be racing it all the time or taking it to the track doing any type of hard launches and i never plan on spraying it.
Everyone tells me to get all forged parts, but if the stock engine does not contain forged parts why can you still spray like 100 shot in it? (again not that i plan too) If i dont plan on building a monster of a car do I really need forged componets? What advice do you guys have for me?
Again my goal is just to have a nice torqey daily driver that i might open up every once in a while for sure, but no nos or drag racing. I would get a bigger cam but not too big i want my power down low where i can use it and i also plan on haveing my stock heads ported with roller rockers and of course i would have headers and most all bolt ons etc...
so if i got a stoker kit that wasnt forged would this be ok for my style of driving? What if i got a forged crankshaft but not forged pistons and rods would this be strong enough? Thanks for your advice i am new to this whole rebuilding thing......

just get a cast crank and use hyperuetetic pistons or even just cast pistons. youll be fine. dont skimp on the machining of the engine and get it balanced. use main studs if you want to strengthen the bottom end a little. no reason for four bolt mains for you.

No you won't need forged...hell if you're really on a budget have your stock crank turned and some KB hypers or even the Summit forged kit is inexpensive.
If you have your heart set on those extra cubes cast will work fine.

Ok thanks so if i did not get a forged bottom end would it still be safe to rev it up to like close to 6 every once in a while? Also if i could afford to have like part of the bottom end forged which is more important? crank, rods, or pistons? Also what material is best to make it as lightweight as possible? Thanks again
