Help! Transmission Problem I live here in Kansas and it has been raining for a few days, well yesterday i got in my car (automatic 93 z28) and drove to work and my car was working fine and then I get to my work slow down for a speed bump (going like 20) and go over it and then hit the gas and nothing happens really I figured it was just wet n i was getting no traction n spinning my wheels so i left off the gas n then hit it again n it works fine. Well after work i leave work n notice something is different it is shifting weird from 1st to 2nd, like it is takes awhile to and when I am in drive n as soon as it hits around 45 everytime it tries to shift but it just revs up and doesnt do nething like its in neutral, so im like what the hell and put it in overdrive and it does the same but when it hits like 3500 rpm it kicks in but not like it used to b/c at like 65 it is almost red lining and not shifting or nething jsut freakin out. SO i dont know if it something electronic or actually is my transmission? can anybody please help
Did you knock something loose going over the bump? Sounds like my clutch when it went out, just not as bad. I don't know anything about the autos but sounds like it needs a rebuild. Is there a sensor that controls shifting? A mechanical auto would possibly have a vacuum line off so my guess is you might get lucky and have a sensor problem. When you went over the bump, maybe you did something then. So check all your sensors and see if they're plugged up and check voltage to them to ensure they're working. Otherwise, better call the tranny shop.
Exact same thing happened to mine a month or so back. Don't let it fool you like it did me if it starts working for a few days. Drive it to the tranny shop and talk to 'em about a rebuild before you have to explain to the manager of a speedway why a silver T/A has been parked outside for the last week.

I live in good ole El Dorado, bout 20 miles form wichita. My sister lives up in olathe. Also what transmission would u all put in it if it was your car? Would a th400 work? I was thinking about just rebuilding it but i also plan to put a stall on it so couldnt i get a package with the th400 for cheaper than rebuilding it and the stall?
