y pipe question

y pipe question

hey guys, i just acquired a 96 trans am m6. and it came with a set of headers, pacesetters to be exact. and the guy is also gonna give me a hooker cat back from a 99 trans am. so my question is will a y pipe from a thirdgen or any fourth gen work? or do i have to use a lt1 style y pipe? thanks alot and i must say i love this low end torque lol

im not sure.. are the headers LT's?.. if so.. then u probably need a custom Y-pipe?.. or one that fits LT's?.. im not too sure.. so dont take my word for it yet..

yea they are long tubes... well does anybody know how different the too exhaust systems are stock?!? thanks alot

The y pipe you're using on your LT's will fit the hooker catback, some cutting might be required. But your Y pipe should be slipfit for a 3" intermediate pipe... So you're fine.
