Default piston ring help

I was putting my new rings on my pistons and I can't figure out which ring is the top ring. Is it the ring with the bevel? One ring is smaller than the other. The instructions aren't clear enough. Can someone help me out?

Usually to and second ring are the same. the only thing to look for is a dot or some type marking deciphering top of the ring. OR the top ring will have the dots on them saying top ring and this side up. Most cheaper cast rings will be the same for top and second ring with no chamfers. Then the oil rings are a given. Make sure you place top and second ring 180* from each other and the 2 oil retainer rings 180 from each other and 90* from comp rings.
If your really not that sure, i will have to say type in your instructions and we can translate into plainer english.

I am having the same problem right now with the perfect circle file fit rings,
one has a notch cut in it on the inside, and the other has a L shape cut on the out side both dots are pointing up but, i'm not sure witch is the upper compression ring and witch is the bottom compression ring ?

If your not sure which is which even after reading the instructions then call the manufacturer and ask them.
