Default LT1 Question

OK.. My 94 Camaro runs like ****.. missing backfiring, stumbling, you name it.. its been going on for a while on and off..

There is a wire loom that comes off the PCM and goes down by the header and underneithe the engine.. I noticed it was sandwiched between the header and the wheel well today.. pulled it out.. and it was burned to a crisp and shorting out the exposed wires on the header.. pulled it away from there.. runs like a champ now..

My question is, what are those wires and where do they go? is it a ground for something?

some of those wires go to your o2 sensors so if you fried them that is why you are stumbling and backfiring... fix those connections and if it still is stumbling go to a shop with a diagnostic computer and find out what exactly is messing up

it runs great now.. until those wires fall back into place and ground on the header again

Engine has about 20K on it.. Opti, Coil, Wires have about 1k on them ..
engine is a 355CI, Heads, Cam, Intake.. Just wanted to know what those wires did.. apparently they are important.. lol.

my buddy has the same problem with his engine, those are are the front 02 sensor wires, car was running like ****, so i crawled under it and saw a plug wire was dangling there so i put it back on hah. ran like a champ after that, but the 02 wires are burnt to no end, once he replaces those i hope it runs better.

I think there is a ground wire that is grouned to the block by one of the plug wire harnesses in that wad of **** too. I had the same problem when I first done my headers. I ended up(after I fixed the wiring of coarse) reroughting my O2 wires under the HVAC box and the othersnext to the block.
