Safe boost? I wouldn't go higher than 6psi on the stock injectors and a stock motor, but a lot of people will push it more to around 8psi. Most blower packages will supply you with an FMU that uses stock injectors and an inline pump to help get more fuel to the motor, but you're better off just switching to larger injectors and a tune if you're running ~6psi boost on a stock motor.

Just as a note, sig pics are restricted to 500x150 pixels... so try and change yours when you get a chance. Thanks

Nice car btw, and welcome to the site!

what enis said. also you can get away with approx 2lbs more boost if your intercooled with an air to air intercooler versus not being intercooled. the water to air intercooler/aftercooler will allow it too so long as the water stays cool. for the street id say air to air intercooler all the way.

yeah 6-8 is good but intercooler will definetly help injectors should be changed anyway if u have a few miles on your car...If you are planning on doing a cam too you should go with at least some 30lbers.... Get a cam with a tight LSA and it will help ya out with not bleeding off the boost

Over the years, I have elarned one thing, nothing is "safe" when boosting on a stock motor, people get buy with 4.5-6psi, but after a point its just a matter of time till it breaks a piston.

Simply the LT1's pistons and rings, are not made to take the long term side effects of high boost on a high compression engine. Others have ran it fine for 60k with no problems, and them some barely last 10 k. I dunno, its kind of gamble that I didn't want to take when I was in the market for forced induction.

My suggestion is to go with nitrous, or build the bottem end for boost.
