Default 2/3 wot shift prob.

hay guys my buddy has a 95 firebird we put a 12 bolt w/373s,vig t-converter 3600 stall,jba headers and y pipe , and a borla cat/back, b/m trans cooler w/fan and temp sensor at 175 deg. we also put a tci shift kit in it. now the trans wont shift in wot from 2/3.for a coupple of seconds. we got the lt1 edit and set the shift time too .1 sec. on the whole table.we eaven played with the shift mph and rpm too. 1/2 shifts good.what gives ? did i mess up the shift kit?or is there somthing else? please help!!!!!!!!!! we should be in the 13s but are running 15s.

If I had to guess....when you put the shift kit in and changed the fluid....the clutches where in bad shape....when you changed the fluid the material that had been allowing the clutches to grab was removed with the old fluid....with the New fluid the clutches are now slipping.....

I dont know much about the problem but it sounds like the OBD1 high stall problem. Supposedly there is something with the 4L60e that doesnt like a higher stall converter and will not allow it to shift at WOT. Do a search and see if any of your findings help.

When that was happening with mine my tranny was toast. So I put a M6 to solve the problem.

If it the high stall OBD-1 ISSUE....Give Ed Wright a call he has the fix...But from my findings.....2-3 No shift....ussually is the bands and clutches in the tranny ....More often than not OBD-1 High stall issues are with the 1-2 shift

You won't shift at all with the high stall problem, at least mine wouldn't and its only on the 1-2 shift
