If worst comes to worse, you can always jack the motor off of the mounts for some extra clearance.

yeah no kidding me and my buddy got the ls1 down, ive done a few of them. there jsut seems to be so much more room. I was able to get my jet hots in from the bottom of the driver side, and the top of the passanger with the engine jacked up a bit. jsut keep working at it youll get it. jacking up the motor does make a big difference though, its really easy too, jsut pull the one bolt out.

I just installed hooker Long tubes on my 95 LT1 A4 they slid right in the trick that made it easy for me was to jack the car up so that the rear bumper is just about touching the ground then they just slid right in..Now the Ypipe was a PITA. The headers themselves took less then 2 hours to do by myself the Y took about an hour and a half the rest was easy from their

good luck

We just installed a set of Pacesetter's on a 1995 Z28 and it took us 5 hours (4 people working on it). That included the time it took to remove the AIR stuff and the shorties that were already on there. We worked from the bottom and had the car 18" - 24" off the ground. Guess it helped that all of us had worked on LT's before.

Ive got hooker long tubes on my 94 LT1 motor. All I have to say is good luck, the passenger side has literally about a millimeter clearance to the HVAC unit. Im just hopin mine never have to come off. I found with the y pipe, you can get a little more room by modifying the brace that the trans bolts to for a little more clearance. Let us know how it goes!
