The stock 48 mm TB flows roughly 550 CFM. I would DEFINATELY upgrade to a 52 mm TB with your setup.

I agree. Larger TBs are about useless on stockish motors but yours is far from there. Besides raw flow is not the only factor, the LT1 has a pretty small plenum volume even for a 350 your extra cubes compound that issue, the larger TB helps the motor tap into the intake tract in front of the TB a little better and supply the sudden demand for air as each cylinder heads down the bore.

I ran a stock throttle body on my 383 for a few weeks, upgraded to a 58mm throttle body, and it felt like a whole different car. From my experience, it was well worth the money.

I know someone with a very strong LT1 running 800HP on the spray. WHen he dynoed his motor the engine builder showed him something. With his 58MM throttle body he maxed out his HP with it open at 75%. That means that even at 100% he didn't gain anything. Even on the spray it doesn't change the need for a bigger TB. If your a FI aplication then sure. But on a motor like yours I would stick a 52MM TB Personaly. Thats a lot of air to be pushing. Many people will argue a 58MM but it also really depends on how the car is set up, your exhaust system etc etc.

I use the rule of thumb if you're not developing vacuum @ WOT then there's no need to upgrade TBs.
