Default <---Officially unluckiest man ever

basically heres what happened.
Put motor together
sponsor tuned for wrong injectors wouldnt run
madz28 obd1 conv car ran
car knocked*WTF IS THAT KNOCKING*
oil pan off then made notches in the canton pan to clear rod bolts that werent suppose to have issues with that pan.
Found lots of particles in the pan from where it was hitting
Cleaned out pan put everything back together much quieter
went to drive today then hear a loud squeeking then knocking
Car has spun bearing on new fully forged blueprinted 4 bolt splayed 383
after only 100 miles and like 4 oil changes
No more money left and the car will now sit another year after I just bought a moser 9 dennys driveshaft mcleod clutch and every new upgrade like cam ewaterpump linelock digitial window switch etc...
moral of the story
I should have just done another stock block with a 224/230 112lsa again and sprayed the F*** out of it like before because at least that made it 10k miles and would have gone way longer if it didnt lose all the oil it did

I hear ya! Simple cam swap became a whole new motor with H/C/etc just to run it a few miles and pull it again, then again....but eventually it went 11.96 on motor with just the HOT cam and 11.17 on a 100 shot.
Now I have started over...dumb me!

Hey man, sorry to hear bout your luck. Mines been pretty similiar. Mines a 94, had about 5 grand into the engine and drivetrain, mostly boltons, ran a 13.0 at 111 on street tires. Spent about 10 grand last year on a 383 engine build, had nothing but problems since I got it back. Ran a 12.8 on wrinklewalls at only 105!!! Its slower than before, only sounds better. Hopefully all will be taken care of when I get it back, the shop that built it is upgrading a few components at no cost, so well see what happens. Hopefully you get a break some time soon. Good luck!!

That must make me second unlukiest man. I am going through the exact same thing with my new 396 blower motor. I have to pull it here this weekend and get her back on the road soon. She's my daily driver.

I also see your ride looks a lot like mine. I have a white '95 formula

Hope it works out okay for you.

Laters,

Eric

Sorry to hear that. Did you assemble it yourself? If so pull it out and see which bearing spun, turn the crank, get oversized bearings and slap it back together. At least it shouldn't be too expensive of a fix, and just a weekend to get it all apart.

I also had some bad luck, 400 miles on the motor the machine shop assembled(got a good deal, bought it put together) and it broke a timing chain, then 700 miles on the motor after they "fixed" it and it broke again.

Then I assembled the next motor myself, and it has ~1500 miles on it and is fine except, the rotor in the opti exploded so I cleaned it out and got the delteq and about a week later the optical sensor went back so I got to tear it all apart again. Then the pickup tube fell off so I had to drop the pan and weld it back in again(first weld broke). Then the metal 90 degree piece on my waterpump came out while driving down the highway(luckily it didn't overheat) about 30 minutes after we fixed the oil pickup problem.

MAn that sucks worse than this. Thanks for the support though guys. I only assembled my top end. The shortblock came completely assembled by APE . I havent taken the motor out yet so im not positive on that being the problem but I have a pretty good idea that's it. I will take pics of the damage and let you all know.

they said it would work but I put it on and spun the motor and didnt hear anything so I started it then I heard the rod bolt hitting that side ledge that canton puts in there. I think its some kind of splash protection for god knows what.
