Default Is it true... (LT1 vs LS1)

I was told by someone that if a LT1 and a LS1 have the same amount of RWHP. . .the LS1 would still be .5 faster in the 1/4. Is this true? It doesn't seem right to me. . .unless this comes from top-end power.

Would this still be true if the heads and cam were changed in the LT1, as opposed to stock heads and cam. Ex: 400 rwhp LT1 vs. 400 rwhp LS1. I know torque would be another variable.

uhh.. that is not a very plausable statement.. way too many factors.. like weight and such...

It's true...and I also heard they took the word "gullible" out of the dictionary because it was being used too much.

As was said, there are FAR too many factors to make a statement like that. Driver, gearing, auto or manual, stall, curve (one of the most important factors), etc.

although a ls1 block is lighter. horsepower is horsepower.. The only thing is it depends where and how much power your making like where in the power band for instance you could have one car with a lt1 that has a torque peak at 3k and a ls1 car that peaks at 3300. Its all how the car is tuned and if it is geare right etc... Just way too many factors

If both cars had the same rwhp, tranny and mods, given equal drivers the lighter car would win.
