Default 383 LT1 what is ring gap

I am building me a 383 LT1 and plan on using a 200-250 shot of nitrous, so if my 383 with new heads and cams was to make 400, I would be between 600-650 horsepower range with the nitrous. I am confused on what exactly ring gap is? I think it is how for the ring is from the cylinder wall. Can someone help me out? Also do I need to set the ring gap a certain way for this big of a shot of nitrous? Also with rings to you recommend for me. Thanks for any help.

Ring gap is the distance between each end of the ring (the open space) once it's placed in the bore. It needs to be placed squarely in the bore before you measure and gap it.
