Default Bad News!!!!

Well me and my friends were puttin my engine back into the car and we hooked up all the hoses and wires neccessary to run the engine and we turnd it over and it started and we turned it off. Then we looked under the car and there was alot of oil. turns out that the head doesn't seem to go all the way back onto the block on the drivers side and there is an tiny little moon like hole that the oil just pours out of(we had a miny camera hooked up to a tv so we could see on the back side). So it looks like we mite have to take the engine back out to fix it or just rip all the top end off and fix it. Any advice on fixing this problem would be great!! Hopefully its something littel and dumb but i doubt it.

haven't pulled apart the ol lt1 yet but I did on my old uggh carolla and there was a half moon metal peice that fit between the block and the head that gave me the same problem as you, didn't realize it at first but I'm sure someone has an answer more useful good luck.

maybe the guide pins are too long, or the holes are not deep enough, and the head isnt fully on.

I was thinking the same thing; maybe the head isn't all the way on the pins correctly. I had to take a soft mallet and tap the head down when I replaced my head gaskets a few months ago...
