Default TrickFlow Heads

Does anybody know where I can find the cheapest price on the trickflow bare head. Will this be a good aftermarket upgrade over the stock heads on a 383 with a 200 shot of nitrous. I'm planning to get them fully ported by LLyod Elliot. Anyone using these heads have any updates as to what kind of experience you gotten with these heads on a 383 or any track numbers I would greatly appreciate it.

Summit owns TFS so they are the cheapest....

I've seen some flow numbers of them ported by Lloyd and Larry Meaux who does Futrals LS heads.... They can move 300/235cfm and have a much better water jacket than the AFR's and weight a ton less.... I would rather run these over a 195/210/220 AFR.

Have any of you guy's talked to total engine airflow www.totalengineairflow.com
I talked to bret there and he said they would use a different casting than the 195's that Loyd Elliot uses and I guess everyone else. I think he said 177's or something. Dont hold it against me im not too sure. But he said a htat they caould pretty much do anything with these heads, and make them flow around 310 cfm. Now I know loyd is a popular choice. But it seems like these guy's have a good deal here.
And now im trying to keep this streetable and loyd said he would drop 2.08 valves in there, the other guys say 2.05
So im just not sure who to go with.
Let me know what you guys have heard

Wouldn't you have to convert these heads to reverse cooling?

I believe Trickflow makes an LT1 casting now, and that's what the topic poster is referring to rather than the Trickflow SBC heads.

Yeah they are a LT1 casting.... You use a LT4 intake with them after porting so it can at least cover up the port opening.

Thanks guys I really appreciate all you guys input. What kind of valvetrain parts would I need to run with these heads as far as lifters, pushrods, rockers. Will I still be able to use like the comp R lifters, comp pro mags rockers, etc the usual stuff llyod recommends. So then I would need to run an LT4 intake with these heads. Once again thanks for your help & advise.

they are lt1 heads not lt4 but if you have them ported i guess you could run lt4 intake
but you can run the lt1 intake and just port match it.
and yes you can use your lifters, what ever size rockers that match the studs,

Talk to Lloyd about it and he will set you up with what you need!

BTW if you port them out to a LT4 intake gasket... ya need a LT4 intake to go with them.

I have a set of these ported by AI on my 383. I still have to get it tuned, but I'll let you know what it makes. I still need to figure out a few ignition problems first.
