Default Changing cap and rotor

I was just wondering what all is invloved in simpply changing my cap and rotor on my vented opti... do i have to take the water pump off? Actualy, I just need to check it right now to see if there is any sort of carbon build up that could be causing my misfire.

For the price and trouble of changing the cap and rotor, you might as well just get a hole new opti-spark unit. I got mine for $227 from calvin at van devere.

But to answer your question, yes your waterpump needs to be removed.

add to the fact that to change the cap and rotor you need about $30 worth of special tools, along with the fact that it's not a good idea... Just replace the whole opti assembly with a new delco.
