Default Stall Coverter problems?

I have a 97 T/A with a 94 OBDI PCM.
I've heard of this being refered to as a "Stall Wall"??? I know it has to do with an OBDI PCM. My car runns aswome with the 3500 stall, but if I launch really hard on slicks it bangs the rev limiter in 1st, skips 2nd gear, and goes directly into 3rd and then goes into limp home mode?
I have Tuner C.A.T.S. and if it is capable of being edited out, I can do it, its just the means of me figuring out what to turn off, or cut out? I can't remember if it throws a code or not, but I can't (or havent had a chance) to read what if any code it is throwing cuz when I turn the car off and back on it works fine?
Any input would be helping me out greatly!

Ed Wright, Bryan Herter, and a Few other guys ( i keep forgetting the name of the one tuner on the board) keep that fix a well guarded secret.. I remember it having to deal w/ the car thinking it's going faster than it really is (TPS related) so it throws her into limp mode. I believe a conversion to OBD-2 is a fix, but the guys mentioned above know how to fix it. Byran's original fix won't let you downshift into 1st gear from a roll anymore, but a friend recently said he's tweaked things so you can again..

Cool...I'd like to know how to program it out of my OBD1 computer b/c my tuning software is for OBD1. I would rather not buy a 150$+ program if I don't have to. Although I do have the 97 PCM.
If they don't want to post up their "secrets" shoot me a PM please.

A one time tune from Bryan Herter for OBD1 is like $50 and you will be able to edit it yourself afterwards, he will email it to you no problem.

I have no idea what byran or them do to the PCM tuning to allow it to ignore the high stall TCs. I just sent him my tune and $50 and said have fun...

Huh? So you said that you thought it was TPS related? I'll have to check into it. Or just take the laptop to the track next time I go and read the code.

yeah run a datalog on the run when it happens and you'll see it's somewhat TPS and speed related. you maybe going 30mph but the car thinks it's going way slower..

convert to a th350 or th400 transmission, you'll be alright then

I have a spare TH400 in the garage!
If all else fails, and my 4l60 ***** out, which it probly will....I'll probly convert it over. Just really hate to loose my OD.

Ask around on cz28, and somebody will help you out on there, with the fix...The problem lies, in the tranny settings...I can't remember which one though.

Thanks man....I'll definantly do that.
I went to the track last night, but no luck on triping the code. Couldn't get enough traction. Best 60' I got was 1.83. It usually happens around the 1.7's range.
