Default LT4 conversion...

Might sound stupid to all who has gone over this millions of times but: I want to get an LT4 conversion kit for my 93Z. If and when I do the conversion, do i have to do anything to the computer like tune it or something or do I just leave it alone? need feedback. thanks

Call me crazy, but i think a little while ago i saw summit selling there lt4 heads alone for around 630-700 (maybe always like that??), and then the intake is 200 or so. Thats 800 and then you can get your own custom cam for a little more power 230 or so, if you get those lt4 heads ported out make a lot of power, could be cheaper, might be the same cost as the full lt4 conversion, gotta get gaskets and such 100 for the thunderracing cam swap kit, not sure bout the head gasket set, dunno im drunk but check this out,
http://store.summitracing.com/

maybe get a used lt4 intake?? Good luck with whatever you do, should make some power, research is a good thing.

Maybe the lt1 trickflow heads also, someone with more experience/knowledge will know for sure.

hmmmm, that link does not take you to the direct site for the lt4 heads, but you should be able to find them if you follow the links that summit has. Yeah, i believe you will need to get it tuned for the full potential the car has to offer. Once again good luck.

If you are asking if you need a tune with that level of modification you have months more reading to do before you can even begin to make a decent decision on what parts to run. The LT4 parts do make power BUT there are a lot of ways to make MORE POWER FOR LESS MONEY. The LT4 conversion was worthwhile 6 years ago but not today. It is favored almost exclusively but those who have not or will not do research. I think everyone here would tell you the LE1 setup from eportworks.com is just one of the many cheaper and more powerful option you should be looking at insead.
