Default fuel pressure regulator

Ok i need to get a fuel pressure regulator for my new engine and i dont know what to get. What is a good one to get and also where is a good place to order it?

Also do i need to get a gauge to go along with it? I heard a gauge is important to have with it so you can see the psi your actually at. Does the gauge go under the hood or is it one that i have to string up to inside the cab? Thanks.

Areomotive makes a very good adjustable one for the LT1 you can get the from summit racing for like $165 shipped... you can use a gauge that sits under the hood or runs to the inside of the car. i chose the inside of the car so i wouldn't have to pop my hood everytime i wanted to know my fp. Autometer makes a electrical gauge & sender that mounts on the fuel rail using a -4AN fitting on the test port, all the wires get ran from the gauge inside of the car to the sender. the autometer gauge runs about $192 depending on what series you get.

I have a TPIS adjustable fuel pressure regulator that I picked up for $40 from a guy I know in my area. Never used. I am going to install this weekend, so I will let you know how it works. A guage is a MUST. LT1s are kinda tricky and tempermental, so I've heard.

I bought an aermotive, BEUTIFULL piece! works great too and has the biggest adjustment range of any regulator out there.
