I really like those. really like those.... I guess i'll need to save a few more pennies...

cause it's an extra 3-4k.... in my area it's not just 3-4k as the difference. although you can get some eBayed 98's and some 99's for that ball park they all have like 100k+ on them they are not within driving distance...... I mean would you buy a car you cant' test drive??? There are some expections but for me and a daily driver it's not going to happen. there are only about 15 late model F-bodies I know of within 100miles of me I'm sure there are a few more but they are rare and they ofcourse slowly get wrecked.. There are 2 othere black 98+ t/a 's locally....actually in the last 6 months I've only seen 4 for sale... 1 was a 98 all different colors inside base model formula with 111k $11.5k, 01 T/a WS6 black 58k $16.5k 02 pewter ws6 vert 38k $32k.
The other one sold so fast I didn't get a price tag....

So as you can see i'm under 8k and i can buy a brand new LS1 with harness from GM for 5700... you do the math.... thats 13000 new motor new everything else except fram and i'm under what that beat up 01 t/a was with 58k on a motor that has 20-30 trips down the 1/4 with a 200 shot.....

personally i think you should have a motor built instead of buying a stock motor from GM,whats the point of spending over $5000 for a new STOCK motor.im having my forged 383 built assembled and shipped for less than $4k....wasnt trying to flame you, just seems like an odd thing to do,cause when it comes down to resale down the road, your screwed.Ive got the WS9 hood as well,so happy i grabbed it before they went out of business,of course another company picked them up and started making them again.well good luck with your car,but i HIGHLY suggest that if your going to spend that sort of money, and you already have all these mods done to the car,DONT put a stock motor in it.its a waste.

i just used teh GM number as a reference I'm about to buy a bareblock LS6 with Stock LS1 heads and rebuild it from top to bottom...... then drop the LT1 out install LS6 replace k-member with tubular one and call it done for now... Turbo will always be in my future just not the near...

Hey man just curious to where you bought your parts from? Car looks great, I am wanting to do the same as soon as I sell my celica. Also what else besides bumper cover, fenders, and hood needs to be replaced for the front end conversion? thanks.

PM me... I got all my parts off of eBay, LS1.com, & LS1tech.com

I did have to order some parts... I would highly suggest eBaying the headlights before wasting you time with everything else.

Damn, there goes the value of that car...Nice work making it look really good. It came out pretty nice. Good luck when it comes time to sell a "WS6" LT1. I read how you said "do the math" with just buying an LS1. Well, if you would have sold that car for lets say 5,000, you could have gotten a ws6 for about 10,000. You would have the look, and the motor. The reason I come up with the price 10,000 is because a friend of mine just got one for that price. Now, your cars value hasn't changed. But, it's all fun. Looks really good man.

I think you missed the point where I showed I bought my car for 3800 and not 10k... Also I wanted a black one..............personal preferrence... 2nd I luv the ws9 hood which would mean if I bought a black ws6 i was going to replace the hood..... theres an additional grand... and last but not least.. I"m not going to buy a car i can't test drive... and i'm not going to drive a million miles to drive a car I might not buy..... if I don't like it or find alot of little flaw in it etc. i'm not going to buy and the people that do are complete dumb a$$es... just my .02 there... anywho... your friend got a decent deal that dosn't come up often but what year was it???

did it have the ebony(aka black) interior, which is also part of my conversion??? cuz that is a must have for me as well..............

to sum up I wanted a 00+ t/a black w/ a ws9 hood w/ evo wheels... that i can't buy... so if i bought one which goes for about 16k+ around here ( only like 2 other black ones in my town and maybe a couple in omaha). I would pay 1k give or take after paint for my hood and another 1200 for the wheels... so 18k plus tax

or I can have all of the above for 9k...

also an LS1 has what 315hp?? i'm in the works on a turbo kit for my Lt1

so 5kish on top of my 9k project gives me a 600+hp Lt1 ??? 14k vs 18k? 315hp vs 600hp 1 of 1

i see what your saying... but yeah my 7700 car is almost down to under 7k as alot of my old parts are selling.. and my car looks amazing... ps... after my intake mod (ls1 air box and SLP intake) along with my other little mods t/b by pass, off road Y, no cat, descreen Maf, there is little difference between several of the Ls1's i've raced around here. fenderish .. we are all going to the track next weekend.... or well the weekend after that.

Default Your T/A conversion!!!

Hey,

Your T/A looks good! I have a 1996 T/A and I plan to change the front end to 98+ with WS6 ram air and WS6 rims. Do you have a parts list for the front end change. Anything, tips, tricks, whatever I might run into doing this? nicholasyoder@yahoo.com
thanks,
Nicholas Yoder

Looks great man, awsome work, and plan to do it with my car someday if I keep it.

But I have a question. Say your driving on the interstate, passing a 18wheeler that falls asleep, veers into your lane, throws your off the road, you go rolling and fliping this way and that. Your okay, but your cars totaled. The insurance company will just give you the money as if it was a 96 ta or what ever correct? Any way to get it insured as a 00+?

What do I bolt the top of the bumper cover to on my TA? I`m putting the '02 bumper cover on and the bottom bolts to the metal reinforcment, but where does the top bolt to? Unless I`m missing a part? I don`t know.
Look on this pic. Is this the part I need? If so, what is it called and whats the part number? By the way, thanks for the pic CONVERTED.
