Default 160 T stat, I know overkill

I know the 160 temp stat will not cause my lt1 to run rich as long as it enters closed loop mode so the o2 sensors and the computer can run the fuel air mixture. My question is will the 160 t stat cause harm to the actual motor? I was thinking about this last night and how the factory proabably set the different tolerances and things to work at 180 degrees plus or whatever, but im not sure. So I have posted this to see what you guys think. Is the 160 t stat safe?

160 is fine. they made the engine run hotter for emissions, not durability.

There is no such thing as a tune for a lower temp thermo. only for lowering fan on temps. Which can be done by way of computer tune, manual fan switch, ect

He might of.. but to a lot of people it would be easy to think that there is a reaction after the install that needs to be tuned for. Better to squash that now then have it come back later from someone who got the wrong idea about it.
