LT1-LT4 Modifications 1993-97 Gen II Small Block V8

Default Help .. need a good combo

Hi guys ,

a freind of mine finally decided to modify his 1993 lt1 m6 camaro , and I sugested to him to start with , a 306 compcamp 230 / 244, .510 / .540 112 LSA with all the stuff( pushrods + springs etc..) , and a Manifold intake , a 4:10 gears and a 30lb injectors , and some head porting work . The car has a long tubes and all the free mods and bolt-ons .

My questions are:-

1-would this cam work great with a stock heads and stock cui ?

2- would the LT4 manifold intake fit on the stock heads ? if not what are the other choices in the market?

3- Is the PCM recommanded to be tuned .. ohh sorry I just realized (power chip ) and who do the chips?

4- I would appreciate any additional important advice .

It would work alright with stock heads, but it will really shine with some port work. 360-380+ rwhp has been seen out of this cam-only setup. 400rwhp or so can be attained and even more with good head...work..lol. Lt4 intake won't work with lt1 heads...just port match the lt1 intake to the heads. The intake isn't the real restriction on these motors..the heads are. A tune will be necessary to get the most out of the setup. Contact ed wright to burn a chip (required on 93 cars.) He's gonna need a clutch too, spec stg 3 should be in order with fresh hydraulics. That's all that comes to mind besides timing chain, lifters, etc.

Hey man I saw u are down in Charlotte, theres a place in Concord called Advance Inductions. He specializes in LT1 ported heads and camm setups. His setup is real close to 400 to the wheels. I know 3 guys in southern Va with his stuff and that s where there numbers are. Just a thought. Good luck.
