rather than get a chrome alternator, just relocate it to A/C so you can get taller valve covers. They make the whole engine look MUCH better. Reference the picture I posted on page 1.

I bought a kit from a guy who no longer makes them, but any welder could duplicate his work. If you want to see how it was done, I think I have some detailed pics of the modified bracket; PM me. I highly recommend my particular method of relocation because my serpentine belt is still in great shape, no fraying, which means everything is aligned perfectly. My friend's method (93turboLT1) is starting to tear apart his belt.

That kit doesn't retain power steering, BIG negative for most people.

One day my bay will be shiny.

For anyone who cares, and wants a pretty engine compartment (withtout spending money on bling stuff)
1. THROUGHLY pressure wash everything (be carefull around the sensors and opti)
2. wipe down all surfaces
3. get a can of clear coat, and clear over all the factory paint under the hood (Shines up NICE)
4.) neverdull anything aluminum
5.) armor-all or WD40 all rubber and black plastic
The whole process will take like 3-4 hours, but it's worth it.

i would agree with him except about the can of clear...i would not use spray can clear on my engine bay and it will make a mess of your engine bay if you ever have to try to clean it off/sanding for real paint. everything you put on has eventually gotta come off, if this is what you want then find a friend that has a shop and general knowledge about painting , then remover all the lines and wires from the car and the radiator/condensor everything and do it the right way...with ppg clear. it will last much longer and will be worth your time. i am in need of doing mine as well. i am a painter so i hate rattle can paint it is a PIA when you need to paint over it or anything later down the road
