just stupid people, right?

Just to entertain the thought, if I found some used iron LT1 heads off an Impala SS, would it be feasible to put it on my F-body's LT1?

yes, same head basically but iron, and flow much better, however, becuase they are iron, you will not be able to run as good a compression ratio without the detonation issues.

I wish my heads were iron, then maybe I woundn't have stripped out so many bolt holes.

The iron heads may flow slightly better, but so does the 96-97 heads casting 561. IMHO The Al heads are better because they are much lighter and have screw in studs. Answering the original question, iron heads will bolt up fine.
