Default Power gain from removing the cat?

I am thinking about taking the cat out and replacing it with a piece of pipe. But keeping the cat around for inspection time. I am wondering if the car will respond good or is this a bad idea? I know most car respond great when you gutted the cat but most car also respond great when your descreen and port the maf and that is a big no-no on this car.

Do it. Makes a difference. I went from a gutted cat to a straight pipe, and still noticed a difference. Just get ready for some noise.
