Intake affect sound?

Intake affect sound? Would a cold air intake kit such as the K&N FIPK make my exhaust sound different? It does on my friends Accord just wondering if it does on an LT1. If so, does it make it sound better?
I noticed no difference in sound, but I have a friend with an accord too. You put a high flow filter on one of those accords and it gets loud! The LT1 doesn't do that with the K&N cai.
cai does alot for most cars. there's nearly no restriction in the induction so you can hear a much louder induction sound. also cai does remove a resonator in many cars so that alone can make the car a bit louder. this also affects exhaust sounds but lt1's are so loud to begin with that you may not notice it.
