Default Autometer A/F Gauge

I'm going to be installing an Autometer A/F gauge and according to the directions it say's to tap into the wiring harness wire for the oxygen sensor, have any of you guy's done this before, and which color wire is it? Also, where is a good place to drill into the firewall to get to the fuse panel, or is there a better route to go without drilling into the firewall. I will entertain any shortcuts if any. Thanks for your time and answers to these questions posed.

Why do you need to get the the underhood fuse panel? Just tie the power into the interior fuse panel on the driver's side end of the dash.

For getting through the firewall, it's usually easiest to go through the factory PCM grommet on the passenger side of the car. Unbolt the PCM from under the hood and lift out, you should see where the PCM wiring runs through the firewall. Pull the grommet out, feed a wire though with the factory stuff, and reinstall. You'll need to pull the trim from the underside of the dash on the passenger floorboard to grab the wire, but that's about it.

If you need some help getting the wire through it, I've used a wire coathanger run through the hole to either pull small wires through, OR to stretch the grommet and insert a larger cable (like the 1/0 power cable for my amps).

Good luck!

OK, that sounds great with me about the PCM grommet but will I have enough wire on the gauges to reach all the way over to the fuse panel on the drivers side interior?

I did this and all you need to do is tap into the wiring harness by the computer. There is a purple wire that is the 02 sensor wire. And I doubt that you will have enough wire on the gauge to reach so just solder some together and heat shrink it. Good luck!!

Definitely won't have enough wire. It's not very long at all.
