Default If im going from ls1 to lt1...

what are the main things that i should NOT do to the lt1 that i would to a ls1?
ive lost my ls1 and i really like the look of the 93/97. i basically had already in my head made out the combo i wanted for the ls1, the main thing was finding the correct cam, and i finally decided the fms f14. which would be about the same for the lt1? ive got in my eyes a 97z a4 for 5k with 89k miles. im not fully convinced if i should get it or hold on a bit for a ls1. but i dont know much about this engine. maybe i dont need the ls1 out here its mostly street racing.....light to light kind of thing. no freeway or roll races ever. besides, im planning on going with the bottle too. so what do u guys think? im mostly interested in finding what cam would be compatible with the f14. now that i think about it, i havent even checked if futral makes parts for lt1's, maybe i should just give them a call

Get the Lt1. They put some pretty good torque numbers down stock. If your racing light to light, an Lt1 would be pretty logical to have. Besides, everything is more expensive for an LS1. You can make that 97z pretty fast for a lot less. Also, the Lt1 block will basically last forever...Imo

get the LT1, spray it, get some sticky tires, longtubes to a cutout...your looking at a fast street machine for no more than like $6000 including the cost of the car (if you get some good deals on used stuff). If you have money, stall/gears, LE2.
