Default aluminum rods-whos got them??

i dont want to start a pissing contest about aluminum rods not being streetable. i just want to know if anyone here has built an lt1 with them.

Before looking into "upgrades" look into what the stockers are. Powdered metal technology is a great thing allowing low weight with stonger than forged strength. The knowledgable folks all seem to put the safe limit on the stock rods around 600HP and some brave souls go beyond even that.

how did you like those grp's??? the caps snap on and surround most of the bearing dont they??? ever use a set of bme's?

I really like the GRP's and the way the cap 'locks' into the rod. Makes it easier to keep them square when you torque them up. I have used BME's also, and a few others, but GRP is my favorite!
