from where im sitting, the e-brake lever is hot, as well as that entire console. been like that for a few months, no change in performance or shifting, are their any concerns?

funny thing is when i switch the a/c inside, it seems to cool taht console area

 

I think it's just road heat. Since it has been summer, I would say you'll notice it a lot more. I get a lot of heat there too and even my floor boards will sweat and the carpet will get wet. I used to have rubber floor mats but I went to carpet so they would breathe better.
