Default tranny question

just had my 3.73s put in about a week ago from the factory 2.73s. everything is fine from first to second, but when the car goes to shift in to third, it seems to hold it out longer and hit the rev limiter 2-3 times, causing the car to really fall on its face

what do you think could be my problem here? will i just have to get the shift point corrected or what?

thanks

Swapping gears without a reprogram should only result in the speedo being off not shifting problems since the shifting is based on the now wrong speedo and rpms. If the speedo was corrected without correcting shift points then you could have trouble like you are seeing. I think your problem is fuel or ignition related and just happened to surface after the gearswap. There is a lot of performance to be had in a reprogram so I still strongly recommend one for more than just the speedo calibration but do not believe it will fix this problem.

the speedo has not been corrected, but i dont see how that effects shifting points. this is only happening at WOT when the car goes from second to third. i honestly dont think its anything fuel or ignition related, as it never used to happen.
