Default Quick question about rocker adjustment

Ok, so i have done my rocker adjustment before while the timing cover was off on my car. Now the cover is not removed and i need to adjust again for my 1.6's that i got. My question is , being that i have removed the balancer hub before I am not 100% sure that it got put back in the exact same spot. What is the easiest way to adjust these guys ,now that i dont really have a point of reference? I really dont want to try to put a wire or whatever it is in the spark plug hole and see , as that is a PITA by yourself.

There is a very good procedure that I'm sure somebody here can locate on how to do this. You will need either a dial indicator or a good eye to watch for when the opposing valve for the cylinder that you are adjusting starts to move. Its pretty easy to do, should only take an hour or so.

If yer gonna adjust them with the car running then just back off the nut til the rocker starts clicking, then tighten it down til it just quits clicking then tighten 1/4 turn more. I've heard some comp lifters don't like as much preload, don't know for sure though but seems like I read an 1/8 of a turn is what they like.

Thats is my question, how do you get TDC # 1 without timing marks?
And then how do you know youve turned crank 90 and so on.

a positive stop is the most accurate rotate til it stops one way then go the other way and dead center of those 2 marks is tdc just make sure its the compression stroke both valves closed
about the 90* i make a mark on my balancer every 90* with a piece of chalk i use a good reference point and start there then make a mark every 90*
