LT1 Edit just provides an interface for you to view your PCM data and you can edit it accordingly. The programs are not universal and no one's copy can be used on yours unless they have paid the $1500 to allow it. The programs are VIN specific so you'll have to obtain a copy from www.carputing.com.

The converter "BOX" can be sent to carputing and have them add more vehicle VIN's to it. Each VIN they add is $100 and their unlocked box is like $2500 last time I checked. BTW the program is not locked, I've used the single progam I have to program both my LT1 cars and a friends 97Z, yeah my box is unlocked for 4 cars.

OK so it's been a while since I've been to their website. I don't think they were "unlocking boxes" by adding VINs when I bought mine. The "completely unlocked box" was only $1500 or so when I was shopping for my copy. Evidently they've advanced somewhat.

Get Tunercat. Better and cheaper than LT1 Edit and not VIN locked.
