Default LT1 newbie a few q's

I picked up a 95Z over the weekend for my wife and had a few Q's.

1. What would be the code for the performance rear? and which one is the paint code?

2. Aparently the motor has been changed out (previous owner was a dipstick) so how can I find out what year the motor is? Where's the engine ID#'s located?

3. while I was fixing the buldged out fenders I noticed it had DeCarbon shocks. Did 95's come with these stock?

4. Where's the cheapest place to get an 1LE elbow with out the silencer hole?

On a side note the factory Bose sound system sounds awesome, I wish my 01 had it!!

TIA

Look in your glove box and look for the RPO codes

GU2 is the 2.73 ratio rear.

GU5 is the 3.23 ratio rear.

The paint code should be located on your driver's side door. It will be the third number from the bottom.

Hope this helps

The RPO code for his rear gears could be GU6 too.

Thanks for the replies guys. So it does have the 3.23's, I figured so with the RPM's @ 2500 @ 75. I kinda wish it had the 2.73's for gas mileage. Does anybody know about the shocks? And I have a new question, what else is required to do the LS1 front brake swap besides the spindles, hubs, rotors and calipers? I think it's just the LS1 flexable brake hose? What about the LS1 ABS brake sensor, is it compatable with the LT1 system? Is the LT1 master cyclinder up to par?

thanks again, shawn

Yes the decarbon shock are standard on these cars. As for the LS1 brake swap you seem to have it all covered, you can use the LT1 flexible brake hoses, but these cannot be fixed on the bracket. The ABS is compatable.

you can reuse your stock hubs, i actually did when i did my swap it made it easier to put the 4 bolts for the hub on, and i found the one of the hubs i recieved was bad so i kinda had no choice. The braking system is up to par and you will notice a difference in stopping i like my swap alot well worth the $150 for the kit.

So the hubs are interchangable too?
